We stayed the night at a traditional ryokan, went to an ancient village with a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji where were were able to dress up as a samurai or in yukata, see several beautiful, clear springs that come from Mt. Fuji, make our own noodle hot pot, explore a gorgeous temple, and experience Zen meditation there.

I found it very interesting how the classes are organized and enjoyed the challenges it gave me to learn more Japanese.

I was able to pull out all of the Japanese I learned prior to KCP and actually apply it, rather that being in reading kanji or speaking opportunities.

My favorite was the conversation practice, since I wanted to improve that the most. I can’t think of anything I would call unproductive.

I would strongly recommend insisting that beginners have previous experience in the language, at least a year or more.

I benefit the most from drill practices and review, but group or one-on-one conversations are the best way for me to put what I’ve learned into practice.

I found that the pair work was very effective, as it allowed students to work together in order to overcome obstacles that they would otherwise not be able to overcome on their own.

Any time I had a problem or question, there was always someone at KCP who made time for me and helped me.

The opportunity to practice speaking and comprehending Japanese during class, in conversation sessions, and in day-to-day life was an invaluable experience for which I am very grateful.

Everything was pretty productive and interesting depending on the goals that you had set forth for yourself. I can’t find anything that I found boring, and not productive.
