I truly enjoyed my first semester teachers and overall experience in Japan. I learned so much and improved so much so, I would love to continue with this program.

I learned so much in my little time there that I can easily see becoming fluent in Japanese through KCP as attainable.

Don’t be afraid to speak up during class, we are all terrible so no pressure.

I liked the fact that I could always talk to a teacher before or after class if I had a question or a concern. I thought the fact that KCP students could take cooking classes was very interesting.

I enjoyed the field trip activities that were given to us because it allowed us to experience some parts of Japan that we would experience if we were on vacation but with the help of knowledgable teachers and KCP employees.

Having conversation practice in class was also very helpful in practicing new grammar.

KCP seemed like a good mix of learning and doing. I’m very happy with the way things are going. I’ve gone from level absolute zero to being able to hold a basic (though formal) conversation, and while Kanji seemed like an impossible wall to surmount, I can now recognize 150-something kanji and reasonably scribble out almost as many!

Each professor was more interesting than the last and gave an in-depth look at many of the multi-faceted aspects of Japnese culture. This is exactly the kind of thing students need.

I was able to spend quality time outside of class with my teachers and classmates and got to know them better.

It was the best opportunity to actually utilize the Japanese skills learned in class in addition to making friends. The Tea Ceremony club was a lovely glance into traditional Japanese culture.
