James from Winter 2017

Being able to see the culture that Japan has to offer up close and personal. Additionally, being able to connect with other English speakers during the classes helped reduce a lot of the stress in being in a foreign country.

Courtney from Winter 2017

KCP is fast paced and rigorous. Because of the pressures I am able to remember most of the grammar rules. Tests are frequent and stressful but are an active way to check my knowledge.

I enjoyed the culture classes the most because gave me the chance to experience parts of Japan that I probably wouldn't explore on my own.

Malisa from Winter 2017

Games were helpful because it made the class feel more relaxed, and I wouldn’t feel so nervous when trying to answer questions.

All of the Saturday culture classes were satisfying because they each showcased a different side of Japan, like traditional side in Asakusa and the otaku side in Akihabara.

Cassandra from Fall 2016

Going around the room forming sentences around the vocabulary on the smart screen was excellent practice in pronunciation and forcing ourselves to think quicker. Sensei asking about our home countries and hometowns (etc) was also helpful because we were already familiar with the topic, which just left describing it using the vocabulary.

I want go back to study in KCP again, so I guess that’s a good sign. It’s a really good school, but I also think it depends on how much time you want to put into it. Don’t just see it as a trip to japan, really try to live it, and use what you’re learning. In the west, language schools aren’t that helpful, so take advantage of that.

Nicole from Fall 2016

I was surprised I had my own bath in Ikebukuro dorm. There aren’t enough pictures of the living arrangements on the websites so most students are really surprised by how nice the dorms are. Overall I really liked it.

Lauren from Fall 2016

I think that drill work and pair work were the most helpful because they allowed for live practice of learned material without being drowned out by others.

Testimonials

I selected the KCP language program because I wanted to immerse myself in Japanese culture. I wanted to improve my Japanese, and there are glowing reviews of the teachers at KCP. The final verdict was decided when I looked up how much the program costs, and I realized that the short-term summer program is significantly more affordable than many other programs.
