I was glad to have volunteered for a speech at Kotoba Day.

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I was glad to have volunteered for a speech at Kotoba Day. I was very grateful for all the individual attention given to preparation for the speech! I thought the grammar exercises were challenging and good practice - actually creating sentences instead of just multiple choice test taking. I also liked the style of kanji with vocabulary mixed in.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

I liked all the extra small opportunities outside of main class - the random standardized testing (JPET, TTBJ), that gave me an idea of which JLPT level to aim for. As mentioned before, I liked Kotoba Day's speech opportunity, but I disliked the reading comp/dialogue segments -- the groups were too large, and enthusiasm was diluted.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Pair work presented to the teacher. Tests/grammar exercises emphasizing sentence composition.

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?
