Take the course seriously as it is not easy, but very rewarding and you will get a lot out of it.

Alex from Fall 2021

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The speech contest because it was fun working with the teachers on improving my way of speaking, and the trips to see Kabuki and to Nihombashi as they were experiences I wouldn't have had normally.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

Most productive was the chances to practice speaking a lot in the SS classes on a range of topics as well as the revision classes, the least productive was probably the shorter meetings that possibly could be emails instead

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Conversation practice in small groups, pair work and drill practice were all very helpful

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

Take the course seriously as it is not easy, but very rewarding and you will get a lot out of it, also try to make friends not just with your home country so you're forced to practice Japanese outside of class.
