I think the way the program is organized is the best way to learn the language.

Michael from Winter 2020

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I really enjoyed the extra English support classes, I felt like I learned a lot from them.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

I really liked the flipped classroom environment where students would be exposed to the material for the first time out of class, and then classroom time would be spent practicing. The pre-class worksheets wouldn't take much time, and made fully understanding the material in class easier.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

I thought the sessions where teachers would go around the room and rapid-fire ask questions for conversation practice were helpful. There were also times where one student would be picked and other students would ask a bunch of questions.

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

KCP is a fantastic school that I would recommend to anyone who wants to study Japanese. I think the way the program is organized is the best way to learn the language. Every single teacher I had was fantastic, and were some of the best teachers I've had in my entire life across all levels of schooling I've completed. They work extremely hard and are very passionate about what they do.

Testimonials

I loved meeting new people in my classes and being able to practice Japanese almost every day. I loved living in Japan as if I were Japanese and absorbing the culture.
