Make friends and do things outside of class, its good for speaking practice.
Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?
The conversation event with Japanese university students was great as we could practice with native speakers that are our age, it was good to hear what kind of vocabulary they used and what kind of hobbies they have, it would be good to have more opportunities to speak to Japanese people.
What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?
The most interesting for me is learning to read and write kanji, as well as speaking. Least interesting is probably writing, it's my weak point and I need to improve my essay skills. I also really enjoyed the english support sessions with Saito Sensei which was another good chance for speaking practice.
What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?
Tests and drill practice was the most helpful.
