I intensively learned a language for barely 2 months!

Won Young from Summer Short 2018

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I found just socializing with the staff in KCP to be the most satisfying. Not only am I able to engross myself in the daily life of the Japanese worker, but also I am able to strike up a conversation and have fun in doing so.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

You join KCP to learn a new language and immerse yourself in an entirely new culture. Spend time actually learning the language, and of course, keep your mind open. There may be some students in KCP who seem to fit a certain stereotype which I will neglect to mention, and of course it's hard to not judge at first... but of course they all came to learn Japanese, so you got that bond already.

Testimonials

I found tests to be a good indicator of where I was at over homework. The homework only covered one topic usually, but tests would cover a wider variety of them mixed around. I’ve never studied Japanese from a textbook in this style, so the textbooks have been extremely helpful in visualizing Japanese grammar points.
