Time in class was used very effectively and never felt like busywork or a waste.

Hannah from Fall 2015

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

Probably the school trips because they gave me the chance to chat at length with other students in Japanese, without having to follow a curriculum or time limit.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

Time in class was used very effectively and never felt like busywork or a waste. Least productive is probably the Culture Classes on Saturdays, while I enjoyed them they took up my entire day and left me very little time to study or rest, making my weekends almost as stressful as the school week.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

I benefit the most from drill practices and review, but group or one-on-one conversations are the best way for me to put what I've learned into practice.
