Aponi from Spring 2023

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I think the trip to Kamakura was my favorite. It was a nice surprise with our special guest, Kato Sensei. I think the trips are nice way of getting more acquainted with classmates and teachers.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The most interesting part to me was the immersive teaching style, I really liked that way of teaching. Even though it requires a lot of studying I really enjoyed that aspect. I can't think of anything that wasn't productive at the moment.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

I think acting out made up situations were the most helpful for me paired with the textbook and teachers explanation.

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

Testimonials

I selected this program because I saw a favorable review for it in my Japanese club’s newsletter, and I had been looking for a study abroad in Tokyo. I also liked how inexpensive the program was and how the offered dormitories, which few other programs did.
