I think the most fun/satisfying events were the Bon Odori festival and Yamanashi trip.

Patrick from Summer Short 2023

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I think the most fun/satisfying events were the Bon Odori festival and Yamanashi trip. Both of them involved experiencing Japanese culture and understanding more about Japan.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The most interesting aspects of the program were the cultural activities but also the thorough study of Japanese through pair work, practice through scenarios, etc. The least interesting was the dill practice, repeating texts without looking at the paper.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

The most helpful activities was the pair work which allowed students to practice what we learned in class and actually put it in practice.

Anything you especially liked in the living arrangements? Any problems you experienced?

I enjoyed the fact that the rooms were individual and had a bathroom inside. Having a private space to study and sleep was a big advantage of the dormitory experience. Furthermore, the dining hall downstairs was very convenient with affordable prices.

What dorm did you live in or host family did you live with?

Testimonials

I chose this program because of its well-favored reviews on various sites as well as the intensity provided by the classes. I looked for a challenge and KCP certainly provided that for me.
